Einstein
LOVE FOR EINSTEIN (MAN AND BELIEFS)
Dr. Ghatak not only talks and writes about science and its quests but has also written inspiring books on the lives of some of the great minds. Albert Einstein is one of them. He has written three popular books on Albert Einstein.

The Story of a Genius discusses why Einstein is still an icon for most people. Dr. Ghatak’s stance is captured beautifully by James Challey - for the historian of science this presents an intriguing puzzle. The answer to Einstein’s enduring public image lies not in the consequences of his scientific work or its technological impact, but in a much more complex interplay between the content or the style of Einstein’s science and the social world around him. The book by Dr. Ghatak gives a brief account of his science, philosophy and (often troubled) personal life. Dr. Ghatak’s other books on Albert Einstein are titled Einstein & His Year of Miracles: E=mc2, and The Light Quantum and Special Theory of Relativity (2019). The Special Theory of Relativity and Quantum Theory are considered as the two major revolutions of the 20th century. Roger Penrose wrote “Albert Einstein had such extra-ordinary deep perceptions of the workings of Nature that he laid foundation stones for both of these twentieth century revolutions in the single year of 1905”. In this book Dr Ghatak has given the basic physics and consequences of his revolutionary contributions in his Year of Miracles: E=mc2, The Light Quantum & Special Theory of Relativity.

In a treasured letter to the author, Dr Ghatak had written ‘in this book, I have tried to explain basic physics and fascinating consequences of the special Theory of Relativity’. The entire book was typed by him and all the diagrams, other than the photographs, were drawn by him. In the book he had written that his hope was that the younger generation in his family would read his interpretations and feel some of the excitement he had experienced. Dr. Ghatak’s fascination with Einstein’s theories and work depicts his own brilliance in interpreting and formulating ideas accessible to the greater public.
